They are responsibly doing different audits since many decades like GST audits, stock audits, Internal audits, etc. Many Cost Accountants hold key positions at top level of many successful institutions and companies in India and abroad. Hence Cost Accountants should also get a power of conducting Income Tax Audit and should be included in the definition of “Accountant” under New Income Tax Bill 2025.
