CMAs are also considered competent with statutory cost audit, internal audit and plethora of assignments after considering the standard of syllabus and competency level by the government. Inclusion of CMAs in the definition of Accountant under Income tax Act has much smaller implications in comparison to vast responsibilities they are already entrusted with. In spite of the fact it is a long pending demand and not becoming successful due to unethical resistance from CAs which is a great hindrance to the growth of the whole accounting profession.
